“Durham Magnet School for
Leadership Development”

Magnet teachers team up with students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade for enrichment classes for technology, science, physical education and the arts.

Durham’s Leadership program challenges children to develop their own abilities top to perform individually and creatively, to work in groups, to enjoy positive social interaction, and to assume the role of leader in situations most suited to their interest and skills.

Identifying and nurturing leadership qualities in children not only enhances their sense of self-worth but also sets them on a road to a lifetime of learning about themselves and the world around them.
